| The road test of t his Viper was the toughest! To test the fuel system I had to run the car to 6,000 rpm and make sure that it had 100 psi of fuel pressure. So I taped my fuel pressure gauge to the windshield and got on the freeway to do the test. No matter what I tried, the Viper was too fast to do the test on the freeway. 6,000 rpm was quick in first gear, too quick to read the gauge, watch the road and the tach. In second gear on the frontage road, 6,000 in second gear was over 100 mph! The good news is that the fuel pressure was 100 psi, so that no detonation would occur and the horsepower was there for sure. |
